Norris Cotton Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center providing advanced diagnostics and treatments, with care based on the latest discoveries and technologies, medicines, and methods. Medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, psycho-oncology, palliative care, and genetics counseling are delivered by interdisciplinary teams of oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, nurses, and other specialists. They collaborate to recommend individualized treatment programs and then engage in close collaboration with the patient’s family physician. The center performs basic cancer research, chiefly investigating the molecular basis of cancer and how tumors grow. It also focuses on clinical cancer research and prevention and control research. The center has more than 200 research projects and as many as 175 clinical trials underway. It operates a help line at (800) 639-6918 to provide information about cancer treatment, prevention, support groups, programs and events, and other resources related to cancer. The help line is staffed weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern.
