The Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine is home to the
Abramson Cancer Center. The 500,000-square-foot Perelman Center is a state-of-the-art outpatient facility located adjacent the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Designed with extensive input from University physicians and nurses, the center emphasizes collaboration not just among clinical disciplines but also between these same providers and their patients. The idea is to have patients recognize that they are full partners in the treatment process. In addition to the Abramson Cancer Center, the Perelman Center includes the Penn Lung Center, a research-oriented unit dedicated to investigating multiple diseases of the lung, not just cancer. The Perelman Center is structured to anticipate and respond to future trends in medicine, allowing it to always remain on the cutting edge of care.
